So that is what a 'Droid' is.
After I was given my orders, naturally I hastened to follow them. I found the place. Luckily, unlike my old 'dreams', it did not feature an endless corridor. Since taking on this role, I've become a lot more patient, but that would just be taking the biscuit.
Inside, it looked just like a computer suite in a school. That would be apart from the mechanical rat-like robots that were hooked into every monitor.
Rat robots? I do not kid you. They were a dull grey, and rectangular. They had no wheels, but seemed to move along just fine. On the top, at what I presumed was their head, they each had a long thin rod of metal pointing straight up. In fact, they looked very much like the Star Wars mouse droids in shape, except for the non-existent wheels and antennae which the Star Wars creations did not have.
Apparently they can't speak English, because, well, they're robots. I have yet to establish whether they have free will and minds like I do or they might just be mindless drones. What does it really matter? Only the ability to have a decent conversation.
I'm to work with a few of these Droids. This will be fun. (Or as close to fun as can be. Let's hope I'm remembering how 'fun' feels correctly)
